While you install Windows Server 2016, the administrator account gets created by default, and it's the account that is supposed to have the highest privilege on the server. But sometimes you want to access non-administrative applications or apps downloaded from app market without security check, it would be very dangerous to open those kind of apps with administrative privilege. So here we can create a local user account for it in Windows server 2016. Want to know how to do it? just follow me.
Step 1: Just navigate to the Start Menu, and right click it and select the Computer Management option in the coming option menu.
Step 2: Just navigate to the Local Users & Groups item and then right click its sub item Users to open an menu. In the coming menu, click New User.
Step 3: Then just fill out the coming new user form and remember check the checkbox labelled with Password never expires. Last, click Create button.
Step 4: Then return to the main interface, and sign out your existing administrator account. Then sign in the server system with the new created user account.
Now you can see that the new created user account are shown on the left bottom corner, just select it and type password to log in server system. Then you can access the unchecked app with this account.
In addition, if you want to promote a local user account to a higher privileged account. Just sign in the server system with a admin account again. Then repeat the step1 to get to the computer management, and click Local Users & Groups > Groups, then in the corresponding right panel, double click the Administrators item. In the coming dialog, just click Add button.
If you don't know the exact info of the target account, just click Advanced button.
In the coming dialog, follow the policy to find your target account. Then select it and click OK to finish it.
